Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and [Legal entity name: pending confirmation] ("TruthClue", "we"), [Registered address]. By using the site you agree to them.

1. What the service is

TruthClue searches publicly available records and third-party data for the details you enter and shows you what matched. Records are matched on name and area, so a result may be about a different person with the same name. We do not search private accounts, and we cannot confirm that any result is accurate, complete or current.

2. Not a consumer reporting agency

TruthClue is not a consumer reporting agency under the U.S. Fair Credit Reporting Act. You may not use any result to make decisions about employment, tenancy or housing, credit, insurance, or any other purpose covered by that law or similar laws.

3. Permitted use

  • You must be 18 or older.
  • You may not use the service to stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate or embarrass anyone.
  • You may not search for anyone under 18.
  • You may not resell, republish or scrape results.
  • You are responsible for how you use what you find.

We may suspend an account that breaks these rules.

4. Accounts

Your account is tied to your email address. You sign in with a one-time code sent to that address. Keep access to your email secure.

5. Searches, plans and add-ons

  • Before you pay, we run a free estimate only: no records are searched. A search you have not paid for is saved for 24 hours. After that it must be started again, which is free.
  • A plan includes 3 searches in each 30-day period from the day it starts. Unused searches do not carry over. More searches can be bought as a Search Pack.
  • Plans renew automatically on the same term you bought, at the price shown at checkout, until you cancel: 1 month: $19.99 today. Renews monthly at $19.99 until canceled. 3 months: $49.99 today. Renews every 3 months at $49.99 until canceled. 6 months: $79.99 today. Renews every 6 months at $79.99 until canceled. The amount charged today, the renewal wording and the next charge date are shown next to the purchase button before you pay. You can cancel from your account at any time.
  • If the full search returns no usable match, the search is returned to your account. Results are not guaranteed.
  • Offers shown after you choose a person are charged to the payment method you just used. Each offer states its price and whether it renews.
  • Cancellation and refunds are covered in the refund and cancellation policy.

6. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for decisions you make using results or posts, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the [12] months before the claim. [Lawyer to confirm for each market.]
